Getting to The Alfred
Parking
The Alfred Centre’s underground carpark is open until 10:30PM daily. Enter the split-level complex via Centre Lane, just off Commercial Road. Parking fees apply: see Alfred Health’s website for current rates.
Alternatively, the carpark at 198 Punt Road (corner of Greville St and Punt Rd) is a 5-10-minute walk from the hospital. Limited metred parking is available on the surrounding streets.
Public transport access
Tram 72 stops in front of The Alfred’s main entrance. Trams 3, 5, 6, 64, and 67 stop on St Kilda road, a short walk from the hospital. A digital tram timetable is displayed inside The Alfred Café in the hospital.
Buses 603 and 604 stop on Commercial Road, just outside Alfred Hospital. Bus 246 stops a short walk away on Punt Road.
Prahran Railway Station is the closest train station, a 10-minute walk from the hospital. Head down Greville Street onto Punt Road to reach the hospital.
Other amenities
Gift shops, cafés, a pharmacy, ATMs and public toilets are located inside The Alfred Hospital itself. Further cafés and eating options are located in the Chevron Apartments complex, next to the hospital off Commercial Road.
